TF237124: Work Item is not ready to save Error while migrating

Using VSTS Sync Migrator and I've tested it successfully migrating a backlog I've created, but when I point it to a backlog that has existed for a few months and is more robust, getting this error when migrating and trying to save to target and debug lists a specific workitem.

Are you migrating Area Paths and Iteration Paths? I see this when ReplayRevisions is set to true and the work item has a history where it has gone through different area paths or iteration paths that are not in the target environment. It may not be that in your case, but it's basically telling you something about the work item is invalid.

If you set LogLevel to Debug you should see a dump of the work item values it was trying to write. which will probably help you work out your issue.

Maybe you should post the logs into here so we can have a look (just make sure you remove any sensitive information)

You have excluded area paths that appear in the history of work items you are trying to migration.

This error is almost always because the Area/Itteration Path does not exist in the target!

Haven't resolved, put it on back burner, hope someone finds a fix. While it might not fix your issue- we resolved this behavior by disabling custom ADO Rules on Work Items.
