Migrate TFS XML process to an Azure DevOps Service Inhertied process

I'm Currently doing migration from TFS to ADO.
Here I have 2 questions.
1.Do we have any possibilities to migrate the customized Process Templates from ADO ?
2.Do we have any solution for the roles Migration from TFS to ADO

• Are you talking about moving XML or Inherited processes?
• Do you want to move them from TFS to ADO, or another ADO to ADO?
• Are you able to use the migration service?

Do we have any solution for the roles Migration from TFS to ADO

• Do you mean Groups? If so are they Entra ID groups or ADO/TFS?
• Do you mean Licence assignment? If do is that native ADO/TFS or Entra ID?
• Do you mean users?

in TFS we have both XML and inherited process in different collections, and needs to migrate both from TFS to Azure Devops services.
Do you want to move them from TFS to ADO, or another ADO to ADO?

Do you mean Groups? If so are they Entra ID groups or ADO/TFS? : Each Project have different permissions and based on Groups and Users

Can you explain why you can't use the "Migration Service?

The Migration service is by far the best way to get a full-fidelity migration. You can then convert Projects to the inherited model and decommission the XML template. After that you could do work to consolidate you collections.

1. we are trying to migrate XML templates from TFS to ADO.
   I'm using the nkdagility tool to migrate the workitems and pipelines. many of the projects has customized process XML templates and also there is custom work item types and other things.
   so its needs from business end to migrate the same thing whatever is there is in TFS to ADO without any modification.

You should use Clone a Hosted XML process to an Inheritance process process to convert your XML process in TFS to an Inhertied one.

Once you have an inherited process you can use the Process Migrator to move it to your ADO instance.

Then you can use our tool to migrate the data between your old TFS XML Project to a shiny new ADO Inherited Project.

1.These Cloning options are not available for me. Is there any other way or tool that I can use?
2.I need To migrate the Test plan and Test suits, could you share the sample configuration to migrate all test plans and test suits which will migrate everything from the TFS to ADO.

1. No, there are no other tools that you can use. You will need to build/clone the process manualy if you have a version of TFS that is old and does not have this feature.

I would recommend that you create a clone of your collection with only the projects that you are migrating. Then you can use the Microsoft Azure DevOps Migratin Service to import the collection into Azure DevOps.

Then you can use all the modern tools.
