Latest versions of migration tool no longer updates source reflectedworkitemid?

Hi all,

I noticed that at least few later versions of migration tool ignores this:
"UpdateSoureReflectedId": true,

Does this got deprecated? It was super useful to have a link posted back on Source to reach Target WI.

Yes, this was removed ~2018 [about 400 versions ago], and we moved to use FilterWorkItemsThatAlreadyExistInTarget instead. Since then we never make any edits to the Source.

This was also around the time we also moved to migrating revisions as well.

Any chance to make this available again? I understand the reason behind not updating the source, but if we could bring this back as an option - it would be perfect. I would say - have it as "False" by default would work for anyone. No accidental edits on Source side.

I'm not sure there is much ask for it beyond yourself.

I get 5 people a month fearful that the tool will update the source, but you are the only one in 5 years asking for it. When we moved to revisions this negated the ability to update the source as this would trigger another revision.

I completely understand and I can always use versions from ~2018 to update the source if needed. All good - thank you for your quick responses!

Remember @EdPerminas that you will not get history with those old versions. And there are many new features in Azure DevOps, like being ale to move Work items between projects, that are not supported.

I actually have like 4-5 different versions that I use, but 95% of the time its the latest version, but thank you.
