Dry-Run and Source unchanged?

Hi,
I've been diving into the documentation of this migration tool, and while it mentions several times that the tool migrates from Source to Target, I couldn't find a clear confirmation about whether the original Source remains unchanged. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Additionally, there's talk about a "Dry-Run" in the documentation, but I'm struggling to find a concrete description of how to execute it. Has anyone successfully performed a Dry-Run with this tool, and if so, could you please guide me through the process? Your insights would be immensely helpful!

@Goorillazz, there are no changes ever made to the Source.

A "dry-run" is a migration that is not intended for production usage.
