Azure DevOps Server 2020 - Work Item migration to New Hardware (New domain)

Dear All,

We have Azure DevOps Server 2020 in the ABC domain. Due to server resource limitations, we migrated the entire AzDo Database to new hardware in the XYZ domain and configured AzDo to work fine. Now, some projects have been updated with new work items in ABC domain, and we need to migrate only the delta work items to the new AzDo server in XYZ domain.

Is it possible to migrate work items?
If yes, how can we achieve this? Please provide guidance on this. Thank you.

I'm sorry @sundark87 this is not possible.

When you followed Move from one environment to another for Azure DevOps on-premises you should have prevented any changes to the Source environment.

See Stop Service. If you were migrating this was a permanent stop, and only if you were cloning the environment would you restart the original services.

If changes have been made to the original location that you need you will need to do the whole migration again, making sure to prevent access permiantly on the original location.

We do provide consulting and would be able to create something that would move this data (this tool is not configured for this) but it would be custom work.

Your best option would be to:

1. Bin the new environment and start over
2. or, if you cant, then have the people that made the changes manually copy them over
