Export Users for Mapping

Hi,

I am attempting to migrate iterations and work items from one Azure DevOps tenant to another. I have successfully migrated team settings and can migrate work items using the migration tool. I have a few users that I need to manually map and am having trouble figuring that out.

I am attempting to export a user mapping file but only receive an empty file. I am attempting to follow the description given here: #1969 and here: #1973

Attached is my config file:
configuration.json

and log from a migration execution run:
log (5).txt

Any guidance you can provide is really appreciated. Thank you!

It looks like it worked. All users in the source that are active users can be mapped to the target therefor you would get an empty file. The file only contains users that need mapped.

Thank you for highlighting that. I can say with certainty that not all users in the source can be mapped to users in the target. We have 6 primary users in our source and those same people are set up in the target. Only 2 of the 6 match exactly on name between source and target. The 2 that match on name get set correctly during a work item migration, but the other 4 do not. Is there anything else I may be missing in my configuration?

On its own you should see the file created...

If I run that on its own, I still get an empty file. Besides the user mapping file, is there another mechanism to map users from source to target? I'm almost done with our first migration, and I think this is the last piece. If I can figure out this user mapping, I'll be able to complete this. Thanks for your help!

I was able to map users using Field Maps with the following config repeated for each user field:

I like the idea of the mapping file better, but this works
