How to exclude System Work Item Types #2988
-
|
Hi Team, just to preface I have seen similar issues raised to these type of errors but could not understand what a summarized solution is in regards to configuring work item validation in the config. I am trying to use the Migration tools running version 16.3.0 and I get the following validation errors on these system work item types:
I am a little confused with these errors as these can't be edited to include the custom work field and I think with how our custom process is setup I do not care if these are validated are not. My other work item types seems to be okay in the output: '[16:41:03 INF] [16.3.0] Validating presence of reflected work item ID field 'Custom.ReflectedWorkItemId' in target work item types. I have tried including the TfsWorkItemTypeValidtor in my config:
I have tried following several ways using the docs but I am little lost on how to get past this issue. Maybe I am misunderstanding the issue I am having. I have attached my current config file, I am just trying to migrate our work items to our new devops org/ project. Any advice on what this error is greatly appreciated. |

In the attached config the "TfsWorkItemTypeValidatorTool" is inside "FieldMappingTool". You are mising a closing bracket. Thats why the TfsWorkItemTypeValidatorTool is not being recognised... |

Yes, this config you have is for
v16.3.1, which is still pending approval onWinget. You can donload manually, or use the follwing:And add explicitly all the work items that you want to migrate to the list
