keyboard modifiers not working?

Hi, I tried searching the help boards for the topic "keyboard modifiers" but there doesn't seem to be anything. I tried enabling and using the keyboard modifiers, despite enabling security settings, and they don't seem to be responding. Is there a known issue for some users, and a potential resolution I might try? Thank you so much! Great app, about to buy as soon as I get this working!
