Disable click <a> on not active slides

My slides have anchors that when user clicks opens a new tab.
My issue is that sometimes the user with the intention of clicking the navigation arrow, clicks on the next slide and undesirable opens a new tab.
My slider has swiping enabled
Objective: how do I disable those links/click and only enable clicks for the active slide.

Solved. I used a :not with the css selector of anchor and set to pointer-events:none for visible slides but not active.
