Slide with animations not showing every time

Using Nextjs 13.2, swiper 8.4.5

In one of my slides I'm using an NPM package (TagCloud) to render a sphere of text tags. It uses plain Javascript afaik. It is my first slide and will always render initially but on subsequent slides it renders only every other time. When it doesn't render and I click next slide, I see it render for a split second.

What could be the the reason for this? Does it have to do with the duplication of slides?
How can I fix it?
