Keyboard stops working after Google Pay or Apple Pay

We have a vertical Swiper implementation going at https://cargo.co, which has touch, keyboard, and scroll enabled.

I've noticed that keyboard operation stops working when either Google Pay or Apple Pay is activated on desktop (so the browser interrupts the page to show the payment modal).

As far as I can tell, our code isn't doing anything to cause this. Can anyone confirm whether this happens on other implementations? If it appears to be a bug I will open a ticket.
