Rift coder?

I notice that Rift coder is an available package for download. How does this relate to the extension for VS Code?

Rift is described here, Rift Coder is described here. Rift Coder is the language model that powers the Rift extension.

I understand. But this doesn't answer my question. Why is it available for download through GPT4ALL when the VSCODE extension will download its own copy into its own local directory?

Is it intended to be accessible through the GPT4All API in some way? If so, is this documented anywhere?

The extension clearly has menu entries for choosing GPT4ALL models, but I notice that the Rift model is not an option.

You would select this model in GPT4All if you want to use it in the UI or via the Python bindings and ask it to do things with code. There isn't any reason to use GPT4All to provide the model for the extension, they are both loading the same file using llama.cpp.
