Security Concerns?

What security concerns are there with using this library rather than the Tunnels connector? With Tunnels, you can leave all ports closed to inbound traffic. But I have to assume that you need to leave port 3306 open for public traffic in order to use this library.

Sure, you've got a password, but I suspect there's nothing stopping someone from just spamming/brute forcing the port all day.

Or am I overlooking something?
