Unknown Local Cache Error should simply ignore the invalid artifact and continue without using cache

I understand the security measures offered by the Unknown Local Cache Error, however when this error occurs, the entire process fails rather than simply ignoring the invalid artifact and continuing. The cache should just be ignored or discarded, and the process generating it repeated.
