Plugin workers expect to receive a socket connection from the parent process shortly after being started. Potential workaround

I myself don't have this issue, but a colleague of mine, who is in a more restricted setup (Windows + Firewall etc.) had it.
We could "solve" it by setting the environment variable NX_PLUGIN_NO_TIMEOUTS=true. (It seems that for him it's just very slow, so he hit the hardcoded timeout of 5 seconds.)

This fixed it for me too. I have also noticed that I am getting this error if I use npm. With "npx nx ..." or "nx ..." everything works fine.

@aisraj05 @floAtEbcont However, "NX_ISOLATE_PLUGINS=false npm run ..." is the better workaround. Then it works smoothly and pretty fast. With "NX_PLUGIN_NO_TIMEOUTS" it is pretty slow
