Describe the bug

for me when I open the app home screen lags lime hell.inside the articles it's fine but it's just the home screen

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:
open the app and scroll though the home screen

Expected behavior

Should be smooth

Additional context

maybe those image carousels are causing this?

I've investigated this, and it does happen because the carousel tries to load too many items at once while scrolling. I'll try to optimise it.
