bug: swagger auth not working

The swagger endpoints have a custom auth setup for specifying a bearer token. It stopped working at some point. I hardly ever use it so I never noticed. Either get rid of it completely or make it work.

Note: It may be worthwile to see what a brand new code base generates for code to setup the current default.
