Is it possible to clone a disk and attach it to a different VM?

We would like to "clone" the disk of an existing vm and attach it to another existing VM in order to quickly refresh development data from staging VMs. We can't do a full clone, as we only need to clone a specific disk.

I tried several methods:

1. Creating a snapshot and attach the disk from it's snapshot
2. Creating a clone and attach the disk from the clone

The attachment of the disks is always governed by nutanix.ncp.ntnx_vms_disks_v2.

All these methods fail. Is there something else we can try?

Prism Central is pc.2024.3.1.1, AOS is 6.10.1.6.
