Can I use the mariadb that I already have on my docker-compose config?

Hey guys, can I use the mariadb that I already have on my docker-compose config? How should I edit the compose file considering it, if possible?

Or do I have to use exactly the compose setup mentioned in the repository?

Cool! Can you share bits of your compose file for the db part?
I'm not very confident about messing with database configs.
