@kwame we are not familiar with differences on OL, but so far I haven't seen such an error yet on RHEL. have there been some additional errors anywhere? I am also confused about the statement About reboots:

Closing as basically we do not have enough information about the problem to do any investigation. Feel free to reopen the ticket with the reproducer on RHEL systems. |

Hello,
I'm performing an upgrade from Oracle Linux 7.9 to Oracle Linux 8.10 a55s and the process works fine until the last reboot.
During the last reboot I see the system being upgraded and then when it's performing the package upgrade there is an error on the console that says
systemd[1] systemd-journald.service: Killing process 311 (systemd-journal) with signal SIGKILL
systemd[1]: systemd-journald.service: Failed with result 'timeout'
stopped journal service
systemd[1]: startup finished in 8.167s (kernel) + 0 (initrd) + 7min 7.6(userspace) = 7min 15.823s
and then the system just falls into a root prompt in the console
Any idea on what would the problem be?
