Issues [8:15]
OData TC Github Issues
Make OData-Data-Agg-v4.0 an OASIS standard #2123
Public review is being started with OASIS issue https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/TCADMIN-4678.
Relative precedence of "restrictions specific to a path" odata-vocabularies#298
TC agrees that the answer to Heiko's question is yes: NavigationRestrictions that follow a canonical path from an entity set or canonical path should define the same rules as capabilities that target an entity set. Heiko will update PR Disallow conflicting restrictions for the same capability odata-vocabularies#304 accordingly.
Christof offers to present (in two weeks) a more formalized notation that allows the specification to talk more precisely about paths.
OData V2 required continue-on-error style batch responses, V4 makes it optional for servers (due to use of Prefer) #310
Services MUST advertise support for the
continue-on-errorpreference (with the existing terms/term properties) only if clients should expect this behavior when deciding on their request strategy, like they expect it for OData V2 or JSON batch. Heiko will create a pull request.Missing features to support OData as an interface for Graph databases #2132
Outcomes of the discussion: Unlike earlier versions, OData V4 does not treat relationships between entities as first-class citizens. But vector databases compute distances without using relationships, which can already be expressed in OData. Microsoft Azure Search uses to OData for retrieval-augmented generation. Mike notes that OData through MCP is well-suited to AI.
Clarify text related to Canonical URL #289
TC reviews the issue, George will decide on the next steps.
Lack of ordering constraints on delta responses may require clients to buffer (or persist) entire response to process it correctly #277
TC reviews the issue and assigns it to Mike.
Support returning inline count accuracy #346
Mike will check how this is currently handled at Microsoft.
Next meetings [9:50]
TC has no objections to letting Teams create transcripts of future meetings.
AOB and wrap up [9:55]
Meeting is adjourned.
