Incorrectly returns latest update version

When I click check for updates in the menu bar icon on MacOS, it shows me I'm up-to-date v.2.5.0. But that's not the latest version! It's 3.0.1 according to your website changelog page!

I have to manually update to the latest version by downloading and reinstalling but this is a security risk as it shows I'm up-to-date when I'm not! If I didn't manually checked I would've been fooled.
