I'm running in an error trying to attach a xlsx file --

The XLSX file attachment method is not implemented in Notebooks 2.0 (yet). I think my concern was the size of the library. I’ll post the equivalent code here later today.

Here’s how you do it:

import Excel from "npm:exceljs";

const workbook = new Excel.Workbook();
await workbook.xlsx.load(await FileAttachment("laser-report.xlsx").arrayBuffer());

You can then refer to the ExcelJS documentation for what to do next. As an example, here’s how you might convert a worksheet into an array of objects:

function asObjects(sheet) {
  const data = [];
  const header = sheet.getRow(1);
  sheet.eachRow((row, i) => {
    if (i === 1) return;
    const d = {};
    header.eachCell((cell, j) => {
      d[cell.value] = row.getCell(j).value;
    });
    data.push(d);
  });
  return data;
}

Then you might say:

Inputs.table(asObjects(workbook.getWorksheet("Laser Report 2020")))

Hmm, this should work but I'm still getting error. The file is in the same path (and I copy/pasted the file name to make sure I didn't have any typo hiding in the name) and I verified I can open the file under Excel, but still error.

The same file in Framework works fine.

Okay, this looks like a separate bug. I’ll investigate, file, fix.

Confirmed that there’s a bug in Desktop where URL-encoded file names don’t load. This will be fixed in the next release.
