Can I automate the setting of the creation date? [using the Mac tool Alfred]

I create tasks in Obsidian through an (Alfred) workflow, which includes loading a specific page and typing - [ ] , then I would spell out the actual task there. I couldn't find any information how to "type" the creation date (so that I could include it in this macro), I can only manually select it from the context menu when authoring the task, which I can't automate.

Sure - you can add the following text in your Alfred workflow:

➕ {date:yyyy-MM-dd} 

I'm on an old version of Alfred - 4.8 - but I presume they would not have changed something as fundamental as that simple rule.

You would need to ensure that it adds that text after the description you have typed...

Depending on your workflow, you could make it do something like:

- [ ] {make it leave the cursor here, so you can start typing}➕ {date:yyyy-MM-dd}

Nice, that seems to work! I experimented with typing the plus emoji before, but didn't realize it has to be after the task text.

I am also using Obsidian Advanced URIs to open a specific page and append to it, so I had to use a subsequent Alfred step to move the cursor 12 times to the left.
