render the backlink as a button?

Is it possible to render the backlink as a button? If the backlink is too long, it affects the view of the task a bit.
I especially want to achieve the effect inside this #393 , but I don't know how to do it, short mode does not seem to simplify the backlink into emoji as well.

Short mode does give a link emoji for me, so I think we need to work out why it isn’t working for you.
