For use cases where you want to see more detail around a marker on the map, it would be more functional to zoom to the marker when clicking it instead of opening the note. Opening the note could be done by clicking on the note title in the preview instead.
My use case is collecting a list of campsites and I typically want to zoom in to see more of a site's surrounding geography before (or instead of) viewing the note itself.
I can see the current behavior being better for other use cases so maybe this should be an option.
