Claude code ACP fails with authorization error

Hi, I have this config:

      adapters = {

                CLAUDE_CODE_OAUTH_TOKEN = "CLAUDE_CODE_OAUTH_TOKEN",

            })
          end,
        },

        inline = { adapter = "claude_code" },
      },

I'm using the token I got from claude setup-token, but trying to use chat gives me this error:

API Error: 400 {"type":"error","error":{"type":"invalid_request_error",
"message":"This credential is only authorized for use with Claude
Code and cannot be used for other API requests."},"request_id":"..."}

what am I missing in the config? I get the same error with minimal config too.
I'm confident that claude-code-acp is working properly because claude code inside zed runs fine for me.

I've never come across this. I'm running Claude Code in the same way via an OAuth token. Can you check in Neovim that echo $CLAUDE_CODE_OAUTH_TOKEN is outputting a token

Running it without a token gives me an entirely different error.

If you run claude-code-acp on the CLI do you get any output?

It runs but I don't get any output, it seems like it is waiting for stdin

Yep that is absolutely what should be happening. Assume you're on the latest version?

Could be worth searching the Zed claude-code-acp repo for discussions or issues around that error message.

Turns out that my claude-code-acp install was a few commits behind, I built it myself and it's working properly now.
