How do I find/list the valid choices for model on an adapter?

I'd like to change the model I'm using with the copilot adapter;
I've discovered I can configure it by adding a model key to my config, something like this:

But I'm just not sure what to put in that slot, nor am I sure how to find it.

I read in a few spots that upon changing the adapter CC should ask me which model I want to use, but that didn't seem to happen to me.

Is there some command I can run to list the models?
I also found that the source code was calling:
https://api.githubcopilot.com/models

But I don't know where to get my token for calling that; and would love a simple command (also I'd rather not dig through the source code for each adapter I may use :) )

Hey Chris. Really good question. We don't document this at all. My advice, press gd in the chat buffer to go into the debug window and you'll see a list of possible models on line 5, as a comment.

Copilot is one of the only adapters where the model's aren't hard coded. The rest you can just search for the adapter you're using.

Regarding the changing of an adapter:

However, I'm still having trouble configuring my choice;

Very strangely, the first two showed gpt-4.1 on copilot as being the model in use when I gd in the chat window;

Whereas weirdly the last one showed 'claude-sonnet-4.5' on copilot which is the one I wanted; but I have NO idea why it's working like this 🤔

I'm using https://github.com/wbthomason/packer.nvim ; which is apparently old and unmaintained now, so perhaps I should investigate upgrading it, but I don't understand how it could possibly manifest like this haha.

I haven't used Packer in a few years so can't recall what my config looked like. What if you take the CodeCompanion setup out of the config function?

There's no reason yours shouldn't work. You'll notice I use the same pattern in my own dotfiles.

Default model is not working in my configuration either. I'm using the latest version of codecompanion.
