Update checker incorrectly tells me to update plugin

Although I am using the latest version = 1.06, the update checker prompts me to update to version 1.01
Not sure why I am getting this popup notification and no other response from the plugin.
I am using koreader on android device.
I also tried to set updater_disabled = true in configuration.lua, however it still checks for updates and fails.

@boypt you may have an idea about how to fix this? 1.05 crashes and 1.06 doesn't produce the popup on Android device.

@omer-faruq I just tested 1.05 , 1.06 on my phone, (with koreader v2025.04 android-arm64)

can not reproduce the problem, are you using the configuration.lua from the same source too? I just rename configuration.lua.sample from the extracted source, not editing anything.

After updating the Koreader itself, I now have this pop-up on an old Android device ( 5.1.1, Galaxy Tab A); however, it does not show the result page, the screen looks like this:

I'll try to find a newer device to try it on.

It's a normal waiting notice when loading the response from the API server, may take 10+ seconds depending on traffic load. Press the screen to cancel it and try again it may get better.

I recommend the google Gemini 2.5-flash, theirs free tire provide nice response speed and good answers.

Can you check the koreader/plugins directory, are there more than one assitant_xxx.koplugin directory inside?
maybe there are some other forked version of chatgpt plugins (yes some how they got conficted..).

remove others, just keep assitant.koplugin.

by the way the v1.06 release did not include a seprated zip version with correct directory name assitant.koplugin, the source code from github when extracted, files are inside a assitant.koplugin-1.06 directory, you have to rename it to assitant.koplugin.

I had the chatgpt plugin which is at 0.9 version - after removing that plugin entirely now I am not having any issues.
