OS: Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS (Noble Numbat) running on AWS EC2 t3.large
Installation method: .deb package (amd64)
App version: 4.219.0
Display: XFCE4 desktop accessed via XRDP from Microsoft Remote Desktop on macOS
I set up a fresh Ubuntu 24.04 AWS EC2 instance and installed the app using the following steps. First I installed the XFCE4 desktop environment and XRDP so I could access the server visually from my Mac. Then I downloaded and installed the .deb package with sudo apt install ./GoogleMapsExtractor.deb. I connected to the server via Microsoft Remote Desktop, opened a terminal inside the XFCE desktop session, and ran googlemapsextractor --no-sandbox.
The app launched and showed "Running" in the terminal but immediately began flooding the output with the following error repeatedly until it hung completely:
async r: Target page, context or browser has been closed
ah: Target page, context or browser has been closed
[o: Target page, context or browser has been closed]
The app never became usable. The UI appeared to open but Chrome crashed mid-launch every time.
