Learnability of Aspectual Usage

This repository contains the code for the analyses reported in:

Divjak, D., Milin, P., & Borowski, M. (2025). On the learnability of aspectual usage. Corpus Linguistics and Linguistic Theory.

Code Files

  • 01_modelling.R Conducts statistical modelling using Generalized Additive Mixed Models (GAMMs). The code is set to run the 3 models using 3 distinct sets of learning predictors based on: lemmata, aspectual co-occurrences, or abstract aspectual labels

Data Files

The data used for these analyses is available for download from The University of Birmingham Institutional Research Archive (UBIRA): https://doi.org/10.25500/edata.bham.00001246. The file answers is provided in *.csv and *.rda formats.
