An option to deselect the current item (and without further searching)

Thank you for the marvel you do...

Just to clarify, is there any a reason an option to deselect the current item is absent?

The main reason is that if anything is selected and you are going to search in a wider scope, you first will have to find the current item on the files sidebar, and deselect it. And if there is a high enough elements count, like more than 50, on quite complex projects, welp...

In other words, it does feel that there should be a button (e.g. near the filename) that would deselect it, and I am curious why there is not.

Meanwhile, have you considered an option to not search automatically with a selection change but on the button "Search" only? That would significantly reduce the load on huge projects, where searching, loading, or even paginating files in the page-bar below results in HTTP 504...
