In the methods of my paper, you can find detailed descriptions of their usages.

Contacts of licks were detected by a conductive lick detector. This provides temporally least ambiguous signal and introduces minimal artifacts to ephys.
Quote: "Touches between the tongue and the port were registered by a conductive lick detector (Svoboda lab, HHMI Janelia Research Campus), in which the mouse acted as a mechanical switch that opened (no touch) or closed (with touch) the circuit."

Force sensors were used to measure lick force. The measurements were used in specific analyses in the paper.
Quote: "Two photointerrupters (GP1S094HCZ0F, Sharp) placed along the tube (Extended Data Fig. 1c, d) were used to convert the vertical and horizontal components of displacement into voltage signals."
