How do I enable an Alpha Feature?

how on earth do I enable an extension that has stability of Alpha?

I want to use k8sleaderelector but everytime I add it to my list of extensions I get an error saying it is not one of the supported extensions and follows with a list of valid extensions.

I'm sure I'm missing something simple but have spent all day and still haven't found a way to enable the extension.

I worked out my problem. k8sleaderelector had been added to the Contrib DEV repo but had not been added to the release repo. Therefore the 0.125.0 release did not have the k8sleaderelector extension app so would never appear in the extensions list.
