The vehicle is supposed to report its current logical position (lastNodeId); that will be used as the name of the point. If that's not available, matching the coordinates reported by the vehicle with coordinates of points in the plant model is tried, with a tolerance that is configurable (see https://opentcs.org/docs/7/user/opentcs-users-guide.html#_vehicle_position_resolver_configuration_entries).
