Usage limit has been reached

Just paid $200 for the ChatGPT plan to test out GPT-5 and I'm getting a "Usage limit has been reached" within the first few messages. OpenAI pricing says unlimited, so I'm confused. I have no API key set in my environment variable. Status shows it's logged into my Pro account.

Same here, Plus user, got locked out after 10 messages or so.
"You've reached your message limit. Try again after 2:01 PM."
Even if I hit the 80 prompt limit (which I didn't) it should have reverted back to the gpt-5 mini model

Yes it's too aggressive and, regardless, it should NOT kill that conversation and just allow me to continue that thread with API costs. I believe from reading what Alexander Embiricos has said on X, they're learning and adapting to pro usage and we shouldn't feel any practical usage limit unless running multiple agents at once. Hopefully it's sorted or at least direct API is allowed as a backup.
