make a phrase stay until the next one

Hello!
Whoever did this whisper thing working please have my thank you so much!
Still, have a question. I made .srt file out of a sitcom episode in French. Subtitles last on a screen while the corresponding phrase is being said. As a language learner, I'd like them to stay until the next phrase begins.
Is there a way to achieve that?
