I'm translating a 43-minute interview file from Spanish to English: whisper 'interview.mp3' --model large --output_format txt --task translate --language Spanish. And it consistently outputs the results in Spanish, not English.
If I then edit the file to cut off just the first ~1 second (where someone is heard saying "on this computer" in English), it translates the resulting file just fine. Seems odd especially since I've explicitly specified the input language so I'm not even asking it to do language detection.
For what it's worth, when I use --model medium it translates into English even with the original "on this computer" phrase left in.
