An extendable offline home-assistant ready to use with HueBridge and suitable for raspberry pi 5

We are happy to introduce our offline home-assistant lurker built on top of the openai-whisper module.

Out of the box, lurker supports controlling lights using a Phillips HueBridge in your local network.

There are convenient installer scripts to get going within minutes.

Additionally, we offer a step-by-step instruction on how to run lurker on a raspberry pi 5.

Lurker operates based on a wake word and predefined actions triggered by key paragraphs. The usual instruction-to-action flow looks like this:

1. Wake lurker with a keyword or key paragraph ('hey john').
2. Wait for the audio cue indicating that lurker is ready to record an instruction.
3. Instruct a command in natural language ('Turn the lights out!').
4. Wait for lurker to process and execute the instruction.
