Using Whisper to translate interviews in an intangible cultural heritage inventory construction proyect

First of all, thanks to the team in OpenAI and Whisper. This tool is amazing!

We are a team of 5 persons from Tibasosa, a little municipality in Colombia, South America. We are working in an intangible cultural heritage inventory construction proyect. This proyect is mainly funded by the National Culture Ministry, through a national contest with very limited resources.

The main part of the proyect is based on interviews with the town knowers. So far we have more than 20 hours of recordings from around 50 interviews. To make the analysis of this data, it's requiered to transcribe and cross reference the transcriptions to look for key words, names and topics.

We are very close to the deadline of the proyect and we are still doing interviews. I just found this tool and it will save us a ton of work!

We have transscribed about 5 interviews and the result are really amazing. Not only it identifies words from different persons and volumes, but it also recognices names, local slang and questions; cleans hesitant talk; Identifies correct punctuation..... it`s incredible!
