Kubernetes Deployment for OpenCRVS – Feedback Requested on Approach

Hi OpenCRVS Team & Community,

I’m currently working on setting up a Kubernetes-based deployment approach for OpenCRVS, with the aim of making it easier to run on existing Kubernetes clusters. The setup is still a work in progress, and I’d really appreciate any feedback or help with testing.

Objective:

To build a simple, modular Kubernetes deployment for OpenCRVS that can be integrated into pre-existing Kubernetes infrastructure.

Current Status:

• Wrote basic Kubernetes manifest files for each OpenCRVS microservice (Deployments, Services, Ingress, etc.)
• Managing the setup with a simple bash script for now
• Haven’t fully tested the stack yet — I’m looking for help to validate whether the approach is sound and identify missing pieces

I'd Appreciate Help With:

• Reviewing the manifest files for completeness, correctness, and best practices
• Suggestions for improvements (structure, volumes, secrets, etc.)

@rishavjain2002 For some more context ... We intend to release the Kubernetes migration in OpenCRVS v1.9.0 and at that point decouple the infrastructure folder from its current location (inside the countryconfig repo) into this repository that @adskyiproger links to above. If you compare your approach to this, and would like to contribute to this work, please let us know and we can find some tasks for you. We would be always grateful for community contributions.

Thank you for the warm welcome and for sharing all these resources.

I’ve started reviewing the Helm charts, workflows, and the README.md you linked. It might take me a bit more time to go through everything and properly understand the structure and approach you've taken so far.
Appreciate the openness in sharing this work — it's very helpful for understanding how things are evolving.

One quick question:
What CPU architecture does OpenCRVS use to build their images—ARM or AMD64 (x86_64)?

Hi @rishavjain2002 our software is currently only supported on x86_64 architectures and does not support ARM-based processors. We are awaiting an official ARM Docker image for metabase. Some other people are also searching for a solution.
