Thank you @monsieurtanuki for suggesting this issue. I can work on it and will review how EAN-8 checksum validation is handled in the app to propose a fix that prevents the exception for invalid checksums.
Just to keep you informed, I am currently working in the Explorer repo of Open Food Facts, where I already have 2 issues assigned by the mentor. but I will be able to work on this one in parallel.

@LakshuCodes No rush! For this specific issue, the idea would be to pre-check if the barcode is valid, and to not try to display it if it's invalid.
