Merge translations for Catalan language

There are two codes for Catalan language in Transifex: ca and ca_ES. This is confusing and unnecessary. I would merge the translations and remove ca_ES as Catalan is also spoken in France, Andorra, and Italy. If you need help with conflicts, I can resolve them from the .ts files and send PRs.

Also, is it possible to work directly with the .ts files and send PRs instead of doing the translations in transifex?

Thank you for pointing this out and I apologize for the delayed response!
Would you be able to check the two language projects and merge it into one? Check for missing ones and adjust them, then we would delete the other one. Internally we decided to keep ca and not ES_ca.

I can't find the Catalan files in https://github.com/opengisch/QField/tree/master/i18n nor other repos. So I guess that better work in transifex, upload the files and ping here when ready.

Hi @jmaspons, yes the recommendation is to work in Transifex, as all the project automate the download and apply of the translation from there! 🦾

I merged the translations in ca_es to ca for https://app.transifex.com/opengisch/qfield-for-qgis/language/ca_ES/ . These are the only files available for the ca_es locale and can be removed now without losing any work.

A question not related to the issue: is there a minimum threshold for translations to be included in the releases?

Yes, there's a threshold at 50%

mmm, I think that uploading files to transifex doesn't work and the merged translated strings doesn't appear there. Any hint?

I merged the files locally and uploaded the file to transifex
