We have a host confirmed for the next Node.js collaboration summit, and gathered data from the survey to get an estimate of the travel fund that may be requested:

• Node.js core collaborator:
  • 1 request < $500
  • 3 requests $500–1000
  • 1 request $1000–1500
  • 2 requests > $2000
• Collaborator of other projects in the Node.js organization:
  • 2 requests < $500
  • 1 request $500–1000
  • 1 request $1500–2000
• Other Affiliations:
  • 1 request $1500–2000

We've directed requesters to this document and reminded:

The budget is limited and it's shared among multiple projects under OpenJSF, so it's not guaranteed to be granted especially for requests with higher amounts.

Based on the request ranges provided, I calculated an approximate total travel fund estimate using midpoint values for each bracket to help with planning.

Assumptions (midpoints used for estimation):

• < $500 → $400

• $500–1000 → $750

• $1000–1500 → $1250

• $1500–2000 → $1750

• $2000 → $2200 (conservative estimate)

Breakdown:

Node.js core collaborators

1 × 400 = 400

3 × 750 = 2,250

1 × 1,250 = 1,250

2 × 2,200 = 4,400

Subtotal: $8,300

Collaborators of other Node.js org projects

2 × 400 = 800

1 × 750 = 750

1 × 1,750 = 1,750

Subtotal: $3,300

Other affiliations

Estimated total requested budget: ~$13,350
