This page will allow us to keep track of all of our currently-implemented tools and software resources, as well as those that we are currently investigating for potential integration.
Any software that is currently in use by our organization, including implementation details, will be outlined here.
Slack is a communications platform providing the foundation for most of our internal correspondence. Our Slack channel can be located at http://opensourceparty.slack.com.
Loomio is a collaborative decision-making and voting platform - We are currently investigating its long-term feasibility as a voting solution, but while this assessment is ongoing, we are using this system for internal dialogue and voting. Our Loomio group can be found at https://www.loomio.org/g/UhC86xms/united-states-open-source-party.
Our Github repository is being used to both host any and all internal software that we implement or develop, as well as our organization's Wiki site. The Github repository is located at https://github.com/opensourceparty.
WordPress is an open-source blogging platform built in PHP featuring highly-extendable functionality and a massive support community. It is currently in use for our organization's home page, but its potential to provide additional features and services in the form of plugins or custom development is currently being review. See the section below for additional findings regarding this software platform.
All software that is being assessed by the internal technology subcommittee is listed below - This section will be updated periodically by the subcommittee to include any and all findings regarding the different software platforms under review and their potential to assist our organization moving forward. Further information on each platform can be found in their individual Wiki pages (not finished yet.)
Meteor is an open-source Node.js framework built entirely in JavaScript and is the foundation of the nearly-completed X-Party prototype software featuring a realtime voting and decision-making platform and discussion board. It offers a highly-streamlined development environment utilizing an MVVM design pattern and offering rapid development and reactive (or 'live-updating') templating.
