Update about opentaps integration with Hyperledger blockchain-carbon-accounting

This week we talked about a few important things during the Hyperledger blockchain-carbon-accounting development call that will be important for opentaps SEAS as well.

The plans for that project are:

• Extending the emissions calculator to cover full Scope 1/2/3 emissions
• Building an openly available emissions factors data set on OrbitDB. It will initially be seeded with the US EPA, EU EIA, and UK emissions factors, then expanded over time.
• Developing an ecosystem around it of commercial service providers, open source developers, and companies

There have also been a lot of development of client side authentication and integration with Fabric and Ethereum, so we will be changing how they work in opentaps SEAS as well.
