Reaching out to mentors for Project 2: "OpenVINO Messenger AI-Assistant for an AI PC" GSoC'2025

Dear Dmitriy Pastushenkov, Ethan Yang, and any other interested mentors,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Rohan Gamidi, and I am a third-year Bachealor of Tech AI student with a deep passion for Agentic AI, LLMs, and AI software development. I am particularly excited about the "OpenVINO Messenger AI-Assistant for an AI PC" project and would love to contribute to it during the Google Summer of Code 2025.
About Me:

Skills: I am proficient in Python and have experience with C++. I am also familiar with Electron, which I believe could be a great fit for this project. I have a strong interest in API integration, particularly with Groq API, and I am planning to use MCP for its flexibility in using any other API if needed later.
Interests: I am deeply interested in Agentic AI and LLMs, and I believe this project aligns perfectly with my skill set and interests. I am eager to explore how these technologies can be integrated into a practical application.

Project Understanding:
I have thoroughly reviewed the project description and understand the key objectives:

Develop a standalone desktop application capable of retrieving messages from popular messaging platforms.
Integrate OpenVINO to utilize a local LLM and RAG technique, running on an AI PC integrated GPU.
Create a user interface that allows interaction with the local LLM to generate valuable output.

Questions and Discussion:
I have a few questions and ideas I would like to discuss further:

Preferred Messaging Platforms: Are there specific messaging platforms (e.g., Telegram, Slack) that you recommend focusing on first?
LLM and RAG Implementation: Are there any specific LLMs or RAG implementations that you suggest for this project?
UI Development: I am familiar with Electron. Is it acceptable to use Electron for the UI development, or is Qt mandatory for this project?
API Integration: I plan to use MCP for API integration due to its flexibility. Is this approach suitable, or do you have any specific recommendations?
Performance Benchmarks: Are there any specific performance benchmarks or metrics that we should aim for in terms of inference speed and accuracy?

I am eager to start working on this project and would love to discuss these ideas further. I believe my background and skills make me a strong candidate for this project, and I am committed to delivering high-quality results.
