I would like to try the CH32V002. Is the WCH-LinkE-1v3 programmer also compatible?

Yes it is supported and you can use the LinkE, but you need to make some (manual) updates. See PR #200 and the readme for details. If you run into issues, just ask and I'll see if I can help. (I'm using the TSSOP20 version).
