<pclass="lead">A key part of the OpenWorm project's work is to incorporate models of neurons which behave like their biological counterparts. The 2019 paper of Nicoletti and colleagues (<ahref="https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0218738">Biophysical modeling of C. elegans neurons: Single ion currents and whole-cell dynamics of AWCon and RMD presents new models of 2 C. elegans neurons with the ionic currents which underlie their electrical activity. These have been converted to <ahref="http://www.neuroml.org">NeuroML format for use in OpenWorm. See <ahref="https://github.com/openworm/NicolettiEtAl2019_NeuronModels">here for full details.
