I wish to employ Unicode superscript symbols in a table, to mark annotations in a legend (or key) exterior to a table. For example, I wish to use the Unicode dagger (or obelisk) character † (Unicode U+2020). I have endeavoured the syntax: ^†, but I haven't been able to get it to work. I would really appreciate some assistance.
